Vor drei Monaten hat Kokonotsu Shikadas Vater ohne jegliche Ankündigung das Weite gesucht und ihm als einzige Nachricht die Bitte hinterlassen, sich während seiner Abwesenheit um die Leitung seines Süßwarenladens zu kümmern. Doch Kokonotsu träumt immer noch davon eines Tages Mangaka zu werden und hat für den Betrieb des Süßwarenladens so gar nichts übrig. Und in einem entsprechend heruntergekommenen Zustand befindet dieser sich nun. Es dauert nicht lange, da erscheint Hotaru an der Tür und hat einen neuen Snack dabei, den sie Kokonotsu selbstverständlich umfassend vorstellen möchte. In der Zwischenzeit arbeiten Kokonotsus Freunde Saya und Tou weiterhin im Café Endo.
