Kidou Senkan Nadesico
In der Zukunft wurde der von der Erde kolonisierte Mars von den außerirdischen Jovians angegriffen und die komplette Bevölkerung ausgelöscht. Da sich das Erdmilitär als unfähig zeigt die Angreifer zurückzuschlagen, baut der Konzern Nergal sein eigenes Schlachtschiff, die Nadesico, um den Mars aus den Klauen der Aliens zurückzuerobern. Da erfahrenes Militärpersonal allerdings ziemlich knapp ist, ist die Crew reichlich unorthodox ... und so kommt es, dass das modernste Kriegsschiff der Menschheit mit einer Besatzung, bestehend aus einem Koch als Mechapiloten, einer naiven Generalstochter als Kommandantin, die überdies unsterblich in den erwähnten Koch verliebt ist und einer Ansammlung an Animefans, Eigenbrötlern und sonstigen Verrückten, ins All geschossen wird, um den Jovians die Stirn zu bieten ... Klar, dass die außerirdischen Agressoren angesichts dieser ausgewählten Besatzung keine Chance haben ...
Nadesico ist ein herrlicher Comedy Anime, bei dem die eigentlich ernste Story öfters mal in den Hintergrund gerät, um den Quereleien an Bord der Nadesico etwas Zeit zu widmen. Der »Anime im Anime«, Gekigangar (wird öfters von Besatzungsmitgliedern der Nadesico geschaut), kam beim Publikum so gut an, dass ihm eine eigene OVA spendiert wurde.
