Robot Carnival
Für die Kurzfilmsammlung Robot Carnival steuerten neun der führenden japanischen Animatoren eine Interpretation zum übergreifenden Thema "Roboter" bei. Gemeinsames Element aller Filmsegmente ist die Interaktion zwischen Mensch und Maschine und das ethische Dilemma bei der Erschaffung künstlichen Lebens. Unter den Machern finden sich beispielsweise Atsuko Fukushima und Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira, Steamboy), Kouji Morimoto (Golgo 13 Movie, Animatrix), Hiroyuki Kitakubo (Blood the last Vampire, Roujin Z) und Hiroyuki Kitazume (Armitage III).
